Liturgical Ministers

Liturgical Ministries

Lectors

Lectors are men and women who proclaim the Word of God during the Liturgy of the Word at Eucharistic celebrations. Interested persons will be trained. Lectors will serve at the Mass of their preference. If you would like to serve as a lector, please contact the parish office.

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist distribute Holy Communion at Mass. Those who are called to this ministry attend a training session. After training, all ministers will serve at the Mass of their preference. If you would like to serve as a Eucharistic Minister, please contact the parish office.

Altar Servers

The altar servers assist the priest during the Mass. Those who have received all the Sacraments of Initiation and the students who have made their First Communion and are in Religious Education are eligible to become altar servers. Altar servers will serve at the Mass of their preference. All servers must participate in a training session offered at the parish.

Ushers

The role of the ushers is to welcome and assist parishioners and guests during weekend Masses. Ushers greet and help seat parishioners, take up the collection and direct the flow of people receiving Holy Communion. Ushers serve at the Mass of their preference.

Sacristans

Sacristans assist the priest preparing for the liturgies, setting up the chalices, ciborium and liturgical books, placing items on the credence table and by the altar. They are also responsible for changing the altar candles and opening and closing the Church. Training will be provided.
